    We Were Bad:(

    Well, weigh in again. Chris and i had a very busy weekend starting with last Thursday. We made some bad choices. It will all work out in the end, but Chris gained 1.5 lb and i gained .5 lb. Ten lashes for us. We just need to work that much harder this week. Talk to you all later.

    Well it was weigh in today. Not bad i lost 1.5 lb and Chris lost 5 lbs. GREAT JOBSmile  We had a combined weight loss of 6.5 lbs. It is coming off slow, but it is great that it is coming off. I run on the elliptical about 8-10 miles a week, and Chris runs about 11-12 miles per week. The work outs are getting much easier, it is just, i am waiting to actually want to work outWink  NO PAIN NO GAIN!  I have lost 16 lbs total and Chris has lost 33 lbs total, for a combined weight loss of 49 lbs for TEAM TI!!!!!Open-mouthed

    Slow But Sure

    Sorry this blog is late.  This past Wednesday we weighed in and Chris was down 1 lb, as i broke even and stayed the same. He is currently down 27.5 lbs, and i am down 14.5 lbs. Hopefully this week will be better. Talk to you all later. Nickie & Chris

    More Pounds Bite The Dust!!

    It was weigh in this morning, and i shouldn't admit it, but...i told myself i would have been ok with maintaining this week. The reason is, it was Chris's birthday Monday, and his mom made him dinner and a cake. Dinner was fine, it was the cake, and of course we had some. It is his birthday....It only comes around one day a yearBirthday cake
    Anyways, i lost one pound (YEAH) and Chris lost three and a half pounds. He is doing awesome. He has officially broke the curse of the 300 club. I am so happy for him. So, we had a combined weight loss of 4.5 lbs this week.

    Week 5

    Hi everyone, it is week 5 for Chris and Myself. I have been a bit distant, and i am sorry for the lack of being on this. School is getting to be very, no....lets say extremely busy. ANYWAYS!!!  Weigh in day was today, and I was down to 196.5 and Chris was down to 303 a combined loss of  4.5 lbs this week. Low numbers, but we are very happy with them. it would be great to throw off big numbers each week, but with work, school, family, animals, there is not enough time in the day to work out crazy. It is completely ok, SLOW N STEADY WINS THE RACEWink We have a ways to go, but it will happen in time. I do have new pics but just have to find time to upload them onto here.     Week Four

    Well, it has been four weeks now.  I was worried this day would come................... Chris lost 0.5 lb and i stayed the same.  For a combined total of 0.5 LBS! BUT.....Atleast i did not gain, nor did Chris. We went out to dinner on Monday night and we made good choices, but we did have rolls with butter, and i think that helped do us inBaring teeth Oh Well, it will be better next week. All is fine. Well, i will work on getting those pictures up here soon. Nickie & Chris

    Reflection

    Just looking back at this three week journey so far. In some ways it is hard to beleave that it has been three weeks, and has ONLY been three weeks. I think our bodies are getting used to working out somewhat better than before. It will take time to learn to enjoy the workouts and be able to look past the pain Angry....BUT....NO PAIN NO GAIN. March is going to come before we know it, and hopefully things will have changed for the better. I know that this is what we need to do to be able to enjoy each other and everything else in our lives, for a long, long time. I just want to say, that i am so proud of everyone that has began this journey. Hopefully for the right reasons, health....not wealthHot Meals are ok, although i feel like i am at a cross roads with them, it will be fine. I beleave that everything in life happens for a reason! Chris and I meeting, living, laughing and loving one another  Red heart, coming across this journey together, while supporting each other 110%!  I am looking at this like a new beginning, or shall i say a new chapter in our book of life. It is so easy to put this weight on, but when you have to work hard to get rid of it, i think it opens your eyes to the bigger picture. Life is too short to eat it away. In the past i have found that i turned to food to deal with things. Chris on the other hand does not. His main issue with his weight, is the snacking for him. Now we try to make better choices, while treating ourselves on occasion. Well, i wish everyone well, and will be back to weigh in next week. OH YA....     WOW..It has been 3 weeks

    Time sure flies when your having funAngel It has been three weeks for us, and we have done well. I am looking at my goal, and i would really like to be down 20lbs by the time this contest is done. I think Chris is looking to be down 30-40 pounds by then. He is doing absolutely great. My workouts are tiring and i cant get used to them though. They are suppose to be getting easier, but they are not. Chris's are going very well. He is increasing his millage every time. Any ways, i put our stats in below, and we will start fresh next week. Thanks Nickie & Chris

    Weigh In .............................

    Hello everyone, it is weigh day, and it was good. Chris was down another 4 lbs, as I was down another 3 lbs, for a total of 7 lbs for the week. That is good. I know we are going to see the number one pop around soon. It is getting better. Finding recipes for our cravings, and not munching as much. Well, that is all for now, will check in later this wk.     Getting There, Slow but Sure

    Well, this is roughly our second week with trying to jump start our health. 2008 is the year for change. I never realized how bad we ate before. Just little things, like our snacks....OMG... Now if either one of us are hungry for a snack we have WW bread with sugar free jelly, or carrots, or a 100 cal snack. It is gradually getting better, and going to be so worth it. The workouts are getting better. Still going 2.5 to 3 miles three times per week for now. Have not started weights just yet, and neither has Chris. We want to get our cardio going good first. It is great, we are not getting winded as easily, but boy...does my legs get tired. Chris is doing so good, he is sticking to everything wonderfully, and i am so proud of him. The days i wanted to quit my run early because i was tired or sore, he was right there standing next to me encouraging me to keep going. Then by telling me good job, it means the world. I know it does him too, we just try to keep the positive aspect of this and keep encouraging and complimenting each other. I don't know if i could do this without himRed heart

    Weigh In

    Here is that dreaded day. Well, not so bad. Chris weighed in at 314.5, with a weight loss of 11.5 lbs. GOOD JOB!!
    I weighed in at 204, with a loss of 6 lbs. Good number, i was happy to see that, especially being sick. With a total combined weight loss of 17.5 lbs. Eating has not been an issue yet, i am making food, and measuring out portions. I also have been steaming more food, like fish and vegetables. So far so good. I am starting to feel better so i plan on working out later after work, and Chris does too. He has been great with sticking with this, i am so proud of him. Any ways i will check in later, best of luck out there.

    1 day before weigh in.....

    Well, Chris and I officially weigh in tomorrow for our first week. We did weigh in for the first 2-3 days, but wanted to get on an actual schedule of Wednesdays. The bad news is, that i have been sick. I could not work out Monday because i was in bed as soon as i got home, and am the same today. I really hope this does not hurt my numbers. Chris did great though, he got right up there and ran on the elliptical. I may as well have Jillian here, Chris is riding me telling me to get on the elliptical sick!! (although i would give anything for Jillian to come here and whip my butt into shapeBaring teeth)  Oh well, on a positive note: Chris and I became  A new Uncle and Aunt on Friday night.  Our little nephew was six weeks early, but is doing great. He can come home in two weeks.  Any ways.....i will check in tomorrow after work with our numbers.

    Almost one week done

    Well, it has been about one week since Chris and I started. So far, so good. We try to support each other with our cravings, and have done alright so far. We are both working out on the elliptical three times a week. We are going to add weights, but not until next week. We really want to focus on our cardio for now. We will weigh in on Wednesday, and hopefully see a number. I know it is only normal to loose a little, but i tend to get discouraged when i only see one pound here and there. Chris is very good about putting the pound issue into perspective. You would think as a nurse i would know better, but i guess i like to look at it differently for meWink Anyways, i just wanted to check in and tell you all how our progress is going.      Chris and I decided to make our weigh in day on Wednesdays. So we weighed in today. Chris is down 4 pounds, and is currently at 322 pounds. I lost 3 pounds, and am currently at 207. We are working out, and trying to take in more water. We both worked out on the elliptical Monday, as well as today. I is a bit discouraging when we just want to go back to the way we were, but i guess it will get easier. I am cooking more healthy, and also steaming more. As we keep track of what we take in, we are amazed of how much we ate before, and what we ate. Anyways, this is a quick update, and we will check in next week too.

    Blog 1 for Biggest Loser

    Hi, my name is Nickie, and this is my boyfriend Chris. We have been together for almost eight years now. When we met, we were both smaller than we are now. Within the last couple of years i lost 44 lbs and felt great. Well...This has gradually come back, and again i feel awful. As for Chris, he looses weight great. BUT our downfall is we do not stick to anything. We say we are going to diet, but we need to look at it as a lifestyle change, not just another diet. We need to get healthy. This is for many reasons....Health being number 1.  We are very unhealthy in our current lifestyle. Another reason is that I am sick of shopping in the larger section, as well as i have to get his shirts from the big and tall section. I am currently at 210lbs, and Chris is at 326 lbs. A combined weight of 536 lbs. At some point we are going to get married.  I want this to be a day where we can show ourselves off and be happy with how we look. I want to be around later in life with him, and I know that the lifestyle we are living is not leading us in that direction. Chris owns self employed and i am a Licensed Nurse, but now currently in school full time for Dental Hygiene. We have very busy and demanding lifestyles, so when we get home all we want to do it relax. We have great exercise equipment here, so we plan on exercising more, as well as cooking healthy and cutting our calories. This could be a life changing event. I want to lose 50 lbs, and Chris wants to lose 100 lbs, for a total of 150 lbs.
